DAY 3: NAZCA / AREQUIPA / MUMMY JUANITA
Arrival
to Arequipa. At noon we can visit the Andean Sanctuary
museum, were we can find, frozen in a special chamber The
Lady from Ampato or best known as la momia Juanita
extraordinarily well preserved, in this same place you can
watch a video about when and how she was found as well as
all the rituals that were develop in those days, the visit
is guided. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 4: CITY AND COUNTRY SIDE / CABANACONDE

Starts at:
(09:00) Length: 4:30 hours
Visit to the Santa Catalina monastery, Cathedral, Main
Square, Yanahuara colonial district, church and viewpoint,
Carmen Alto viewpoint, countryside and Misti volcano,
Chachani, and Pichu Pichu, Typical Pre-inca terraces still
been cultivated, the Chilina valley, Sabandia mill, and the
Paucarpata neighbourhood.
Trip to the Cabanaconde village, the trip will take 5 hours.
We’ll exit from the back side of the Chachani, pampa
cañahuas, Aguada Blanca National Reserve, wild vicuñas,
typical andean landscape andean grass or Ichu, bushes like
Tola, Ccapo or Yareta. Small lakes, birds like the Kara-Kara
or andean falcon, black Ibis, Guallatas or andean geese,
ducks, flamencos, vizcachas or wild rabbits, etc. We’ll
continue through the Patapampa highway, volcano viewpoint,
Máx. Altitude 4,800 meters, we can see the Ampato,
Sabancaya, Hualca-Hualca whitepeaks, Colca Valley viewpoint.
Arrival to Cabanaconde at 12:00 hours. Transfer to the
hotel. Overnight.

DAY 5: CABANACONDE / FURE

Breakfast at the hotel, we’ll start the hike through the
canyon passing by the ACHACHIHUA viewpoint from this place
we’ll appreciate part of the trail we will use, we’ll
descend for about 4 hours towards the LLAHUAR village, where
we can have a relaxing bath in the local hot springs and
then lunch. We will continue our trek for a 4 hours period
towards the FURE village where we will stay for the night in
a local lodge.
DAY 6: FURE / SANGALLE
After breakfast we will go to the HUARURO waterfalls, then
return to FURE to pick up our bags and leave to the PACLLA
village and then continue towards SANGALLE where we will
have our lunch and a free time in the afternoon to have a
refreshing bath in the termal springs of this place. Dinner.
Overnight in bungalows.
DAY 7: SANGALLE / CABANACONDE
This day we must leave very early in the morning 0300 hours
approx. Accompanied by the stars and a magnificent dawn in
this oasis to climb to the Cabanaconde village for breakfast
and continue the trip towards Cruz del Condor (optional),
Then head to Chivay for our last lunch in a tourist
restaurant and continue to Puno. Arrival to Puno city.
Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 8: PUNO / UROS / AMANTANI

Pick up time around 0740 hours transfer to the Puno harbor,
we’ll be leaving at 0830 hours transportation to the Uros
Islands on a motorboat we can appreciate the local fauna in
the Lake Titicaca National Reserve, from the total group of
30 Islands we’ll visit two, build with Totora (a water
bamboo) After a nice ride we’ll head to the Amantani Island
on which we’ll arrive after 3 hours navigating, once we
arrive to the Island the group will be divided into small
groups to settle in the local family houses where you will
stay for the night, lunch, dinner and breakfast for the next
day. Approximately at 1500 hours. We’ll climb to the top of
the mountain (altitude 4150mts.), to visit the Pachatata
temple (Father’s Temple), The music and the meals are
prepared in a typical way by the designated families.
DAY 9: AMANTANI / TAQUILE / PUNO
Island
the trip in boat will take an hour. In this Island are the
best weavers since ancient Peru. In this place lives an
intact Inca community, we’ll walk to the higher part of the
island for a period of 30 minutes to arrive to the center of
the island where we will stay for three hours and where we
will learn something more about this impressive island and
have our lunch, then we will walk down through a 500 steps
stairway. We will be leaving at 1300 hours and arrive to the
Puno harbor at 1600 hours. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 10: PUNO / CUSCO
Transfer
to the city of Puno in tourist transport, the journey will
last about 8 hours apprx. The road trip will visit some
local attractions such as La Raya, Pucara, Raqchi and
Andahuaylillas. Arrive to Cusco. Transfer to Hotel.

DAY 11: CITY TOUR IN CUSCO (09:00 AM)
We
going to visit the following archaeological and religious
attractions:
Cathedral.- Religioso colonial monument of an
extraordinary artistic value.
Koricancha.- Religious center best known as the
“Temple of the Sun” highlights the impressive engineering of
the building.
Sacsayhuaman.- Located at 3 Km. From Cusco city,
astonishing stone fortress and excelent architecture.
Qenqo.- Ceremonial and ritual centre, where
sacrifices were made.
Puca Pucara.- Ancient Tambo (military post), they
were located all along the Inca trail.
Tambomachay.- At 7 Km. From Cusco city, Ceremonial
centre for worshiping water, well known as “the place of the
waters”.

DAY 12: SACRED VALLEY
This
day we’ll head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we
will visit: Pisac Ruins, Pisaq indian market and the
church. Then we’ll pass through Lamay and Calca arriving to
Urubamba were we will stop for lunch.
We’ll continue this trip until Ollantaytambo where
you will appreciate the village, the typical streets, and
visit the wonderful archaeological complex, with its
terraces and enjoy the wonderful view of the Sacred Valley.
Afterwards we’ll be heading Chinchero village, so
rich in culture and archaeology like Pisaq and
Ollantaytambo.
Also in this
place we`ll can see how the people stained and woven garments.

DAY
13: TIPON / PIKILLAQTA / ANDAHUAYLILLAS
Early
departure from Cusco to visit the first archaeological
center in Tipón belonging to the Inca culture it
still has the beautiful water channels and terraces still in
use, and Pikillacta considered one of the best
urbanised archaeological sites its straight streets and
buildings are impressive. A visit to the sixtine chapel of
the americas, the church in Andahuaylillas a piece of
invaluable art decorated with frescos dated from the
colonial era. This chapel displays an extraordinary gold
filled decoration. Return to Cusco at noon.

DAY 14: CUSCO KM 82 / HUAYLLABAMBA
(Starting the INKA TRAIL)
Pick
up from your hotel at 0700/0730 hours in our private bus to
head afterwards to Piskacucho (2700 m.a.s.l.) well known
community as the Km.82 where the rails from Cusco to
Machupicchu cross. Starting our hike from this point we’ll
cross the bridge and walk along the left Urubamba river
banks that flow Northwest of the Sacred Valley. After
passing by some flat terraces we’ll arrive to Miskay (2800
m.a.s.l.), then we’ll climb to get to the Inca city of
Patallacta (2750 m.a.s.l.) then we’ll continue along the
valley created by the Kusichaca river, climbing gradually
until we reach our first campsite in Wayllabamba (3000
m.a.s.l.), from where we will see the most espectacular
views of the Vilcanota river on the opposite side of the
Urubamba river and the impressive Verónica whitepeak (5832
m.a.s.l.) on sight. Place where the diversity of flora and
fauna found cannot be calculated.
DAY 15: HUAYLLABAMBA / WARMIWAÑUSCA/
PACAYMAYU
Today
we’ll get up at 0600 hours, after enjoying our breakfast
we’ll start the hardest part of the day, this one consists
in a narrow and steep climb (9 Kms.). Along this climb the
landscape changes to a very high and dry area with little
vegetation. When we reach the mountain pass Warmihuañusca
pass known as (the dead woman’s pass) we will observe
domesticated llamas and alpacas grazing in the ichu, one of
the few plants that grow at this altitude. We’ll also hike
through a forest area inhabited by different kina of animals
such as andean bear or bear with glasses and sparrows. Our
advice is that for this day you take candy, chocolates and
coca leaves so you’ll have the sugar level high to avoid
altitude sickness. Inmediately after the pass we’ll descend
towards the Pacaymayu valley (3600 msnm), where we will camp
after a 6 hours excursión.
DAY 16: PACAYMAYU / CHAQUICOCHA /
WIÑAYHUAYNA
This
is the most interesting and impressive day of the trek, due
to the number of archaeological sites we’ll visit and have
more information from our guide. From Pacaymayu we’ll climb
to the second pass, the Runkurakay pass (3970 msnm). At mid
morning we’ll be visiting the archaeological complex of the
same name this site is located at 3800 m.a.s.l. and consists
in a small oval structure that was created as a watch tower.
Then we will descend towards Yanacocha (black lagoon) and
we’ll penetrate the cloud forest to arrive to Sayacmarca
(3624 msnm). This a beautiful complex build in a
semicircular construction with several levels, narrow
streets and liturgic fountains, patios and irrigation
channels. Continuing on an easy will reach the third pass of
Phuyupatamarca (3700 msnm). Along our hike we’ll appreciate
the magnitude of the ancient art of the incas and observe
the stones that fill the ravine in perfect order. We’ll
continue our hike through an inca tunnel to reach the
mentioned pass. This is one of the most complete and well
preserved archaeological sites we’ll find in the highest
point of the mountain. Phuyupatamarca means “La Nube sobre
la Ciudad” “The cloud over the city” where we will
appreciate a sofisticated compound of water fountains with
solid foundations and impressive views of the Urubamba river
along which we’ll continue climbing towards Wiñayhuayna
(2700 msnm). At this place we will find a restaurant a
counter and rooms with private bathrooms and hot water. 5
minutes from the campsite is the archaeological site of
Wiñayhuayna consisting of an agricultural center with
several terraces.
DAY 17: WIÑAYHUAYNA / MACHU PICCHU /
CUSCO
This
day we’ll wake up early to leave Wiñayhuayna at 4am. At the
proper time we’ll ascend to the Inti Punku or Sun Gate. The
excursión will take us about an hour long to reach the flat
stoned inca sidewalk just on the border of the cliffs from
where we’ll see the dawn over the Machupicchu citadel. From
the Inti Punku we’ll descend to MachuPicchu in 40 minutes
and then head to the control post were we can store our
equipment, inmediately we’ll head to the inca city where we
will have a two hours guided tour. Afterwards you’ll have
free time to walk around the city or climb the Huaynapicchu
mountain from where you’ll have espectacular views of the
valley, mountains and the city itself or maybe visit the
temple of the moon and the fabulous inca bridge. At noon
we’ll descend towards Aguas Calientes village where you can
visit the thermal springs and relax after walking for four
days. Here we will hand you your return train tickets to
Cusco city arriving at 2030 hours.
